Hutto, Texas, is a rapidly developing city recognized as one of Texas's fastest-growing communities. It is located just northeast of Austin and has seen a surge in new residents.
Star Ranch, Carmel Creek, Hutto Highlands, Mustang Creek, and Mager Meadows are some of the top neighborhoods to be considered when moving to Hutto.
Star Ranch:
Star Ranch is a golf course neighborhood with about 1,000 acres of housing sites, parks, and amenities. It is situated on the eastern outskirts of Round Rock, west of toll SH 130. It's about a 25-mile drive to downtown Austin and 15 miles to the Domain. Star Ranch, which was developed in 2016, offers condos and single-family houses. Living space varies between 600 and 3,000 square feet. You'll have to pay anything between $325,000 and $567,500 to live in Star Ranch. The tax rate ranges from 2.8% - 3%. HOA dues are $400 per year. These dues include access to the pools, clubhouse, playscapes, and various other activities from Typhoon Texas, the water park, Kalahari resorts, Dell Diamond, where the Round Rock Express plays, and a lot more. Students from Star Ranch would go to Howard Norman Elementary School, Hutto High School, and Farley Middle School.
Carmel Creek:
Carmel Creek is a popular area since it is a master-planned community situated between SH-130 and US-79. When it comes to major highways, the proximity is incredible. It is located northeast of Austin, north of Pflugerville, east of Round Rock, and southeast of Georgetown.
Hutto is only 20 miles from the Domain and 28 miles from Downtown Austin. Carmel Creek is a newer neighborhood with single-family houses ranging from 1,500 to 3,000 square feet. In the last 90 days, home prices have ranged from $399,000 to over $600,000. The tax rate is cheaper than other regions, at only 2.7%. HOA dues are $60 per quarter, covering the amenity center, community pool, shaded picnic spaces with grills, hiking biking routes, basketball court, and dog park. Lowe's, Home Depot, Walgreens, Chili's, McDonald's, and Southside Market & Barbeque are just a few of the neighboring amenities. The YMCA, Rock'N River Family Aquatic Center, Typhoon Texas Park at Brushy Creek, Star Ranch Golf Course, and Kalahari are also close. Carmel Creek students would attend Johnson Elementary, Farley Middle School, and Hutto High School, located across the street from the community.
Hutto Highlands:
Hutto Highlands is another master-planned community that began construction in the early 2000s and is still going strong. You can look to Meritage homes and Lennar homes for new construction possibilities. To the west and north of Highway 79, Hutto Highlands is right off of Farm to Market Road 1660. It will take around 30 miles to travel to downtown Austin and 22 miles to get to the Domain. The majority of the houses have conventional Texas stone and brick exteriors. Single-story and two-story residences with three to five bedrooms are available. The homes range from 1,500 square feet to over 3,000 square feet. Home prices begin at $310,000 and rise to well over $400,000.
The annual HOA dues are $240, and the tax rate is 2.6%. Just outside the community, you'll find a basketball court, a playground, and swings. You'll also be able to visit one of central Texas' most lovely downtowns. The plans for expansion, including the Hutto co-op district, are another exciting aspect of downtown Hutto. The complex will include a city hall and library, a retail hotel, amphitheater, restaurants, and high-end density apartments, all of which are exciting. It will be one of the most walkable entertainment mixed-use developments in the area, as the city has left no stone untouched. Hutto highlands is also only a short drive away from daily necessities such as grocery stores, Home Depot, and restaurants. Hutto Highlands students will attend Hutto Elementary, Hutto Middle, and Hutto High School.
Mustang Creek:
Mustang Creek is one of Hutto's newest master-planned communities, and it's now on the market. It is north of the Hutto Highlands and east of Farm to Market Road 1660. The Domain is around 22 miles away, while downtown Austin is about 30 miles away. This community's layouts are open and contemporary. You can choose from single and two-story floor plans ranging in size from 1,400 to just over 2,600 square feet. This subdivision's homes all have full gutters, which is unusual in new home development. Full-size stainless steel appliances and natural gas are available for all you chefs out there. The prices of homes range from $317,500 to $428,500. The monthly HOA dues are $28, covering your outdoor amenities, gathering spots, and playscape. All of the amenities you'll need are 2.5 miles away, including the co-op district and downtown, Hutto Walmart, Starbucks, and everything else. I wanted to include this one on the list because the neighborhood is still growing and is still very affordable. Just a note, it feels far away, but there are plenty of facilities nearby. Hutto Elementary Middle and High School will be the students' schools.
Mager Meadows:
It is approximately 29 miles from downtown Austin and 21 miles from the Austin Domain. The exteriors of the residences are conventional with brick stone and stucco and homes range in size from 1,500 to 2,500 square feet. HOA fees are $350 per year, with a 2.7% tax rate. This neighborhood is the one nearest to the co-op and downtown. You'll also have access to various amenities right off of Highway 79. Mager Meadows students will attend Hutto Elementary, Middle, and High School.
